An exciting example of Tiffany's remarkable ability to create beauty on all scales, Tiffany Studios New York "Pony Begonia" leaded glass and bronze table lamp is a masterpiece of petite proportions. A field of intricately intertwined begonia blooms dominates the composition, while green leaves comprised of mottled glass peak through at enticing intervals. Cerulean blue sky peaks behind the bottom border of the shade providing a pleasing contrast. The shade has a top with elaborate openwork and sits on a "Tree Trunk" base decorated with raised vines

A "Pony" lamp is a lamp produced on a much smaller scale than the typical desk lamp. But far from being a diminutive example of Tiffany's work, the creator took great pride in his "Pony" creations, as they served as evidence of his ability to create intricate, elaborate, and truly majestic patterns on any scale. And, unlike the Wisteria, which comes in both a larger size and a "Pony" size, this lamp was only ever created on the "Pony" scale.
